Is Vaccination Policy Fair?

The Republican dominated legislature in West Virginia is trying to undo one of the successful health policy measures in the state. Vaccinations mandated for public school enrollment have largely kept WV from the wave of measles outbreaks in all our surrounding states. Republicans, including all six representing Jefferson County, have voted to weaken this mandate.

Political Truth on a Slippery Slope

During election seasons voters face competing ads from different camps. The truth of these can rest on a mighty slippery slope, given that the ad’s intent is to be more persuasive than factual. This means that voters have to interpret the real intent of the ad,. That being so, what guidelines does a voter use to make a valid interpretation? First rule of thumb: Take all claims of truth with a grain of salt.

Good Business Good Neighbor

Communities value their businesses, but businesses don’t always value their communities. Democrats value development, but look to businesses that their community can trust to be good neighbors, not businesses that just want to exploit the community.
