The Case for Common Ground

Recently Ace Parsi, our Democratic candidate for U.S. Representative, visited Harpers Ferry and gave a rousing statement of his reasons for running. Mike Chalmers sat with Ace afterwards and got further details of how his political and social bearings determine his positions on issues. In a few words, those positions are driven by his faith in responsive, human centered government to better people's lives and build stronger communities.

Regina Dyer Emphasizes Transparency, Local Control in 99th House Race

Regina Dyer, the Democratic candidate for West Virginia Delegate from District 99, interview with the Martinsburg Journal. In her interview Regina stressed her concern that the representation for her district has to have a whole community focus, understanding that job growth in and of itself, though obviously necessary, has to be sensitive to the full impact, positive and negative, that it has on the community. It's part of the job of a delegate to bring integrity to the process.

Lucia Valentine faced off with a panel of broadcasters who quizzed her about her positions as a candidate and the concerns she would have as a legislator presenting House District 97.  A large bulk of the conversation centered around datacenters. Her positions recognize the reality of the law, but she is concerned that the law as currently written does not provide the safeguards and transparency needed to assure West Virginians that their concerns are being heard.
