DESCRIPTION:All candidates for state and local offices have been invited to attend\, but it is very important to understand how the LWV of West Virginia’s “Empty Chair” policy will affect the forums.\nEmpty Chair events are those in which only one candidate for a particular race accepts the  invitation to participate in the forum. If a candidate is unopposed or their opponent declines to participate\, A FORUM FOR THAT SEAT CANNOT OCCUR.\nAn open house format is being scheduled to allow candidates whose opponent has declined our invitation to meet and mingle with voters.
