Crunch Time on Data Centers

Data Centers seem to be on everyone's mind these days, primarily for the reason that they are very much on the mind of our Republican governor. He is an unabashed advocate for this industry and, as John Doyle describes, is willing to relax the regulations and oversight that every other kind of business has to abide by. Are we going to trust the data centers to play nice in our communities out of the goodness of their silicon hearts?

We Have Come To an Inflection Point

It is a given that our Republican governor, Patrick Morrisey, wants to push as many data centers into the state as it will hold. And worse, he wants to do this without local community input. Stewart Acuff lays out the massive hurt that this will cause to our state and argues for a defiant stand in our upcoming elections to un-elect those legislators that sold us out.

Will Data Centers Law Be Amended?

Data Centers may be coming to Jefferson County thanks to Republican Governor Morrisey and our legislature. Not only are they coming, but we the citizens of the county have no say into deciding whether we want them or not. Furthermore, .we get only 30% of the tax revenue, but 100% of the noise, water table depletion, and higher electricity bills. And there aren't so very many jobs. John Doyle hopes that the law will be amended.
