Data Centers may be coming to Jefferson County whether citizens here want them or not. In West Virginia counties are being denied local control over the decision. It won't matter if these facilities increase our energy bills and deplete our water. We won't have a say.

Governor Patrick Morrisey of West Virginia capitulated to Presidents Trump's politically motivated request to send our state's National Guard to DC to fight crime. They actually cleaned the streets. They were being seriously misused and, worse, taken from important work needed in West Virginia.

The term "unitary executive" has come to be interpreted as a license for presidents and governors to do things on their own. Instead of submitting to our Constitutional framework to have Congress make the laws, the unitary executive can decide to bypass the Constitution and mandate changes. West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey thinks of himself in this way. He has eliminated civil service protections, axed the Office of Minority Affairs, and wants to end mandatory vaccinations in schools--all ordered by past legislation. He's ignoring it.
